Greek navy chopper missing in eastern Aegean
A Greek navy helicopter was reported missing in the area of Kinaros, west of the southern Aegean island of Leros, in the early hours of Thursday, authorities announced.
According to initial reports, the helicopter was participating in a night mission with two pilots and an engineer.
A large-scale operation was under way in the area on Thursday morning. Taking part in the rescue efforts were a C-130 military transport plane and a Super Puma helicopter, among others.
