Media boss charged over personal loans

The president of the Lambrakis Press Group (DOL), which owns Ta Nea newspaper among others, was charged on Tuesday with being the moral instigator of a breach of trust in relation to 57 million euros in personal loans that he received from Alpha Bank in order to buy shares in his company.

The charges were leveled against Stavros Psycharis by financial prosecutors Panayiotis Athanasiou and Galinos Bris.

Several Alpha Bank employees have also been charged in connection to the loan, which the prosecutors argue was not properly secured by the bank.
