Lawmakers to discuss justice system next Tuesday
A debate on the state of the Greek justice system and various corruption cases that was due to take place Wednesday has been moved to next Tuesday.
Prime Minister Alexis Tsipras asked for the discussion to be postponed in the wake of the terrorist attacks in Brussels.
Tsipras spoke to New Democracy Kyriakos Mitsotakis before writing to Parliament Speaker Nikos Voutsis to request the postponement.
A meeting of Parliament’s Institutions and Transparency Committee has also been put off and will now take place some time after Tuesday’s debate.
The committee was due to meet on Thursday.
New Democracy accused the government of trying to put off the meeting because it fears its interference in the justice system would be exposed.
