Gunmen flee with cash after hospital mugging but case booby-trapped

Police on Friday were seeking three gunmen who held up a security firm employee outside the Metaxa hospital in Piraeus and fled with an undetermined sum.

The assailants used their guns to threaten the employee, who had been about to reload a bank ATM at the hospital with cash.

According to sources, however, the money was in a case containing a booby trap that drenches the bank notes with paint if activated.
