Shots fired in central Athens, man seriously injured
Around six shots were fired at a man on a motorcycle in the downtown Athens district of Exarchia on Tuesday, the ANA-MPA news agency reported, saying that the victim was seriously injured.
According to preliminary reports, the shooter was a passenger on another motorcycle that drove up to the victim and fired six shots from a revolver, hitting him at least twice in the neck.
The area around the scene of the incident – which took place around 11.30 a.m. on Themistokleous Street – has been cordoned off and police are looking for clues into the identity of the assailants, both of whom had their faces covered.
The condition of the victim, who is said to be in his mid-30s, is serious.
