Skai journalists vindicated over 2015 referendum coverage

The disciplinary council of the Athens Journalists’ Union (ESIEA) on Thursday ruled that three journalists with senior roles at Skai Television should not face charges for violating the union’s code of ethics in the way they covered last year’s referendum.

ESIEA had criticized Aris Portosalte, Stamatis Malelis and Nikos Konitopoulos for supporting the “yes” vote in last year’s referendum on whether to support a package of measures proposed by Greece’s international creditors in exchange for financial stability.
