Weather warning issued with tropical storm forecast to skim Crete
The National Meteorological Service (EMY) on Monday issued an announcement warning that the weather will significantly worsen during the course of the day through Tuesday with heavy rain and storms across much of the country.
The Peloponnese and the southwestern and central mainland are expected to be particularly badly affected as will Crete and the islands of the southern Cyclades.
According to the National Observatory of Athens, a tropical cyclone is to pass north of Crete at some point on Monday with winds stronger than 100 kilometers per hour.
