Turkey keeps up Navtex taunts

Turkey appears to be pursuing a strategy of tension in the Aegean and the Eastern Mediterranean as it has issued more navigational telexes reserving areas for military exercises within Cyprus’s exclusive economic zone and around Greece’s southeastern Aegean island of Kastelorizo to conduct research and rescue simulation exercises.

Meanwhile, the second Geneva conference that Cyprus President Nicos Anastasiades and Turkish-Cypriot leader Mustafa Akinci agreed to last Sunday will most likely be held on June 29, according to reports.

But prospects of a successful outcome still remain elusive as all sides involved appear entrenched in their positions.
