Pandemic-related entries most popular in Greek Wikipedia in 2020

The “Coronavirus pandemic in Greece in 2020” was the most popular entry in the Greek-language pages of Wikipedia last year, according to data presented yesterday by the Open Technologies Alliance (EELLAK).

The page provided updates on the number of cases, victims and government measures for most of the year, before splitting into two separate entries: a general overview and one detailing the timeline of the pandemic.

The top 10 most visited Wikipedia articles in 2020 include those on infectious disease expert Sotiris Tsiodras (eighth), Deputy Minister for Civil Protection Nikos Hardalias (ninth) and the entry for Pandemic (10th).

Other relevant articles that received a lot of attention were on the Spanish flu (seventh), coronavirus (13th) and Plague (15th).
