Foreign Minister Petros Molyviatis smiles at his counterpart from the Former Yugoslav Republic of Macedonia, Ilinka Mitreva, on Saturday during a visit to Skopje. Talks included the question of FYROM’s name, which Mitreva described as ‘a matter of top state interest.’ Molyviatis said Greece was ‘eager to intensify dialogue to find a mutually acceptable solution.’ Greece objects to the name ‘Republic of Macedonia’ for FYROM, arguing that this could imply claims on the Greek province of Macedonia.
