«When our goal is to protect the environment, there is no room for fear, particularly when we know there are ways to achieve a great deal. That is why Greenpeace, from the very start of its efforts to create a better environment, has chosen the optimistic route of action. «For over 30 years, that choice has been vindicated, whether in regard to our activists who stand in front of whalers’ spears or tie themselves to the cranes of ships that transport genetically modified goods, or whether by ordinary people who do their part in limiting climatic change by using energy-saving lightbulbs and solar water heaters, or by rejecting products that contain toxins. Each of our acts can contribute to a better environment. «Behind every one of Greenpeace’s successes are the thousands of people all over the world who support us, but above all who play their own part, perhaps in a less spectacular but just as important way. That is the source of our optimism!»
