A worker from a state-owned fertilizer factory…

A worker from a state-owned fertilizer factory in northern Greece holds up an umbrella as he and his colleagues brave the rain yesterday to protest on Syngrou Avenue in Athens. Some 350 workers closed off the road for 35 minutes to protest the possible closure of their factory in Thessaloniki, as the board of the company responsible for running the plant met to decide its future. The board decided to set up a panel consisting of three executives and three workers to come up with ideas for ways to keep the factory running. Any proposals must be submitted to the board by April 19.
