Disillusioned, looking to a future abroad

«Of course we are protesting when we disagree. Rallies are the only way to protest. But I think the sit-ins have been instigated by political factions.» Christos has been against the revision of Article 16 in the Constitution since the beginning. He believes the revision divides society into the haves and the have-nots – those who can afford to pay for their studies and those who cannot. He himself is surprised that the fuss has lasted so long. Since the beginning of the academic year, his school at Panteion University has only had a month and half of lectures. He is in danger of losing the semester, but the students are starting to tire of the protest assemblies as they last five hours and the political factions end up squabbling. «I am for the protests but against all the party politics,» Christos says. On graduating, Christos also wants to go abroad and study, to travel, live and work outside Greece. He is a little disillusioned after the recent events, as the situation has completely disrupted his schedule. He feels he should have used the time to go on an Erasmus exchange.
