Public Order Minister Vyron Polydoras speaks to newly sworn-in rural police officers in Athens yesterday. Polydoras said the officers will be members of an ‘ecological police force’ and drew their attention to the plane tree leaf that forms part of the new force’s badge. He told the officers one of their duties would be to monitor the use of water in rural areas.
