Peace march in memory of Lambrakis

Dozens of people took part yesterday in a walk for peace from Marathon, northeast of Athens, to the city center in memory of the assassinated left-wing MP and activist Grigoris Lambrakis, who organized Greece’s first pacifist march. Campaigners gather each year to remember Lambrakis, who was assassinated by far-right extremists in May 1963.
