Mirallas shines for Olympiakos

Two goals by Belgian striker Kevin Mirallas set soccer Super League leader Olympiakos on its way to a 5-0 triumph over Panionios on Saturday at the Karaiskakis Stadium, to recover from its loss to Panathinaikos a week earlier. The Reds struggled a bit until the 34th, when Mirallas opened the score, but then strolled to an easy win, with goals also from Vassilis Torosidis, Marko Pantelic and Albert Riera. They have opened a four-point gap from Panathinaikos, who plays today at Atromitos. Bottom club Xanthi dismissed its coach Giorgos Paraschos after sharing a 2-2 draw with Iraklis. Xanthi led with Spyros Vallas, Iraklis came back to go 2-1 up with Bogdan Mara and Karim Soltani before Xanthi equalized via Jordan Stewart. Olympiakos Volou rose to joint third through a 1-0 win over Kerkyra at home with an Ilias Solakis goal. Panserraikos upset Asteras at Tripolis winning 2-0 through goals by Thanasis Panteliadis and Giorgos Georgiadis. In other games tonight Aris hosts Larissa, PAOK visits Kavala and AEK greets Ergotelis.
