By May 2004 drivers on the road between Athens and Corinth, and trains, will be going through these tunnels rather than following the old route along the Kakia Skala cliffs, Public Works Minister Vasso Papandreou said on Saturday, during a visit to the site by PM Costas Simitis. The tunnels are expected to cut travel time drastically, with trains along the route able to move at 200 kms per hour, Transport Minister Christos Verelis said.
