Referendum anniversary

The sixth anniversary of Greece’s bailout referendum finds the political system united on the country’s European orientation. 

That crisis buried all the great political illusions. The same cannot be said for the cliches of cheap demagoguery. 

There are political forces that continue to invest in nostalgia for the old, “generous” state – that is, for the same state that went bankrupt.
