Checks must come first
Since more drastic measures have been ruled out – such as fresh restrictions on the movement of the public and an expansion of compulsory vaccinations – only one option remains. And that is to diligently follow through with the measures that are already in place.
The most obvious first move is to step up inspections by the police and other state bodies rather than leaving the serious matter of upholding public health rules up to businesses and customers, and relying on their sense of patriotism.
