Learning from mistakes

The performance of Greece’s Civil Protection agency in extreme events, such as the recent snowstorm, but also in the management of wildfires last summer, shows that the state has learned from its mistakes.

It has integrated into its practices and organization the experience from the new conditions created by climate change, which has tested Civil Protection repeatedly.

The same should be done as a precaution for earthquakes, experts say. We should not wait until a natural disaster strikes. We must also learn from the mistakes of others and implement preventive inspection protocols of our buildings.
