University fiefdoms

The fact that (yet another) last-minute amendment is required to overcome the short-circuiting caused by factionalism on the newly elected administrative boards does not cover the academic community in glory.

Rather, it confirms that even the most thought-out reforms cannot thrive when faced with the obsolete culture of small personal interests. Let this previous example become something to avoid. Universities cannot be run as syndicalist fiefdoms.
