Banks must pay their dues

Banks were kept afloat during the financial meltdown with public money – with taxpayers’ money.

This is what needed to be done, because without banks, the country wouldn’t have an economy to speak of. 

Now that they are robust again, it is time that they got back to fulfilling their mission by supporting businesses and households, by rewarding savers with fair returns and by scrapping excessive charges.
