Ignoring key issues

The parliamentary debate that took place in the days leading up to Friday night’s vote of confidence in the coalition government completely failed to address extremely important issues such as the rapid changes in the internal workings of the European Union and the significant geopolitical developments taking place in the broader region, particularly in the Middle East and Russia.

These subjects appeared nowhere on the agenda even though they have a direct impact on Greek interests as well as on the future of the country. By brushing them aside at such a crucial time, Greek politicians with their inflexible mind-sets showed that they have absolutely no understanding of the world around them and are more interested in sticking to the same path of stilted rhetoric.
