Political faux pas
Democracies have rules and institutions that must be respected and served by all who represent them.
Most people can appreciate that politicians who have worked hard for the past two-and-a-half years to keep the country afloat – even in the face of dissent and abuse – may have become bitter and are completely exhausted by their efforts.
Nevertheless, that is no excuse for not abiding by political etiquette and tradition, because true leaders should always be able to rise to the occasion.
