Next days are crucial

High-ranking officials admit that the main objective of the new government needs to be the implementation of the third memorandum.

Prime Minister Alexis Tsipras knows that implementing the terms he agreed to in exchange for bailout funding is the only way to put the country back on the path to growth. In order to achieve this, however, he needs to ensure two things that were absent from his previous government: managerial efficiency and strict supervision of the entire state mechanism in combination with clear political support for the targets.

We look forward with interest to the new government that will be announced on Tuesday or Wednesday. If we once more see the appointment of people with no experience to key posts based solely on party ties it will be clear that SYRIZA and Independent Greeks have not learned their lesson and the country will be in jeopardy again.

What is decided in the first few days of the new government will not only be crucial but will also determine the path of the new coalition between Alexis Tsipras and Panos Kammenos.
