Setting boundaries

Mobilization, rallying and protest action should under no circumstances cross the line, no matter where it is coming from, no matter who is governing the country. Right now, the situation in Greece is in danger of spiraling out of control.

There is no doubt that the parties that comprise the current coalition government, leftist SYRIZA and right-wing Independent Greeks, bear a large portion of responsibility with respect to the current situation. This is because they used, took advantage of and legitimized the kind of phenomena we are witnessing today.

But it is time for the country’s responsible political forces to come together and agree upon and set up certain boundaries with regard to what is and what is not allowed, to agree upon the rules governing Greece and safeguard the country and society from all kinds of extremist behavior.
