Greeks should be proud of their efforts to protect the Jews of Thessaloniki from Nazis

What happened to the Jews of Thessaloniki is an unbelievable crime, and should never be forgotten. I will never forget the time I saw the number tattoo on an old woman’s arm while riding the bus in Glyfada. But in this time of religious trouble, let us not forget the Jews of Thessaloniki were rescued from the Catholics of Spain by the Muslims of the Ottoman Empire. Greeks should be justifiably proud of the efforts made during the Nazi occupation to protect Greek Jews. Many times I have told friends that if you need a middleman as an arbitrator between Israel and the Palestinians, you need to go to Greece. LES GROVE,Greece.
