Building a first-class university system in Greece
Your article on education («Education debate,» Jan. 24) was spot on. Greece needs to build a first-class university system. It doesn’t have to cost the state a fortune either. If parents and students knew they would get a world-class education at home, they would not spend millions of euros a year abroad. All it takes is some clear rules, allowing universities to recruit quality lecturers from abroad to break the monopoly. CHRIS BAFATAKIS,Australia.
