GEORGIOS I. RALLIS: A book titled «The Two Roads (Democracy – Communism)» has been published in a popularized but well-documented study of this timely subject. The author is the former minister Georgios I. Rallis who, taking advantage of his firm decision not to take part in the recent parliamentary elections, is now focusing on research and on enlightening the Greek people on crucial issues of our age. The book consists of a long prologue setting out the questions to be addressed and eight chapters written in an objective manner and entirely without prejudice. PAPANDREOU-KARAMANLIS: During yesterday’s parliamentary debate on the Cyprus issue, George Papandreou strongly criticized the government, describing the past six months’ negotiations on the Cyprus issue as a time of panic. He drew attention to what he said were a series of political and tactical mistakes on the government’s part. Prime Minister Constantine Karamanlis then accused the opposition of making extravagant claims, despite the fact that when it was in government, the opposition party had not dared raise the Cyprus issue.
