PAPANDREOU-KARAMANLIS: During yesterday’s parliamentary debate on the Cyprus issue, Georgios Papandreou strongly criticized the government, describing the past six months’ negotiations on the Cyprus issue as a period of panic. He drew attention to what he said were a series of political and tactical mistakes on the part of the government. Prime Minister Constantine Karamanlis then accused the opposition of making extravagant claims, saying that when they themselves were in power, the opposition party had not even dared to raise the Cyprus issue. BRECHT IN GREECE: December 12 – The Art Theater is once again to stage Bertolt Brecht’s play «The Chalk Circle,» which was so successful last year. Translated into Greek by the poet Odysseas Elytis, the play’s songs are by Manos Hadjidakis.
