Yard sale bargains
A private yard sale will take place in Drosia (7 Solomou), north of Athens, on Sunday, May 29, from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m.
Not associated with any organization or charity, the yard sale will include brand-name clothing, homewares, electronics, fishing gear, leather handbags, a teapot collection, fabrics, fashion jewelry and antiques, among many more items.
Environment Week
With Environment Day coming up on June 5, Athens Mayor Giorgos Kaminis will be launching Environment and Volunteerism Week on Saturday, May 28, at 11 a.m. in Kotzia Square.
Deputy Mayor for Environment and Greenery Angelos Antonopoulos, Deputy Mayor for Sanitation and Recycling Andreas Varelas and City of Athens Youth and Sport Organization chairman Panagiota Psaraki will also attend the event.
Free computer lessons
The American College of Thessaloniki (ACT) will be delivering free IT lessons to adults starting at the end of July. The classes are organized in two cycles, the first relating to computer use and software and the second relating to Internet security. The latter is aimed mainly at parents who want to monitor the content of their children?s web searches. Classes will take place in the ACT?s Bissell Library.
