PAOK puts off Reds? crowning

PAOK postponed Olympiakos?s crowning as Super League title winners when it beat soccer?s leader 2-1 at Thessaloniki on March 13. Panathinaikos, in second, cut the distance to 10 points with four games left.

Olympiakos led with a Rafik Djebbour goal but PAOK equalized through Vassilis Koutsianikoulis and got victory through a Victor Vitolo penalty.

Panathinaikos was more successful in Thessaloniki on Saturday, beating Iraklis 3-1 with a brace from Antonis Petropoulos and a goal by Lazaros Christodoulopoulos. Louis Mahop equalized for Iraklis.

AEK is virtually certain of a playoff spot after beating rival Kavala 1-0 through a late Nacho Scocco header.

Panionios and Larissa played out a spectacular 3-3 draw, leaving the relegation battle open; the match was outscored by the Kerkyra 3 Aris 4 game on Corfu.

All-but-relegated Panserraikos retained some flicker of hope after beating Xanthi 2-1, but Asteras?s win over Olympiakos Volou at Tripoli with the same score may prove precious for its survival.

Atromitos remains in trouble despite its 1-1 draw at Ergotelis.

Olympiakos leads with 64 points, Panathinaikos is at 54 and AEK at 43. At the other end, Panserraikos has 20, Larissa 24, Asteras 28 and Atromitos 29, while Kerkyra are Panionios at 30 points. The bottom three will be relegated.
