Reds get within reach of another title

Olympiakos is just one win away from winning its third consecutive league title, after convincingly beating Iraklis 3-0 at Thessaloniki on April 29 in Game 2 of the finals.

This was a much more emphatic victory for the Reds after winning 3-2 two days earlier at the same court.

With the best-of-five series at 2-0 in Olympiakos?s favor after two matches at Iraklis, the Reds will be able to clinch the league crown with a home win in Game 3 on May 2.

The players of coach Yiannis Kalmazidis were dominant throughout the match in front of a capacity crowd at the court of Mikra.

Despite most of the Reds suffering from food poisoning in the morning, they strolled to victory in the first set with a 25-17 score and took the second 25-23.

Iraklis offered a greater resistance in the third set, but Olympiakos was not to be denied and won it 35-33, led by man-of-the-match Dimitris Tzourits.
