Aris holds Olympiakos to its first draw

Olympiakos dropped its first points in the league this season as it stumbled to a 2-2 draw at Aris on Monday, while Panathinaikos drew at OFI Crete with the same score a couple of hours earlier.

Aris proved a formidable opponent for the champion at the Kleanthis Vikelidis Stadium of Thessaloniki leading after just three minutes through a splendid Manolis Papasterianos goal. Olympiakos, hwoever equalized within six minutes courtesy of in-form winger Djamel Abdoun from the penalty spot.

Aris regained the lead 11 minutes from time through David Aganzo, only for Olympiakos to make it 2-2 three minutes on via Jose Holebas, after Aris was left with 10 men due to the second yellow card to Nikos Psychogios.

Panathinaikos led twice at Iraklio through Toche and Charis Mavrias, but OFI managed to equalize as many times with goals coming from Vassilis Koutsianikoulis and Thanassis Papazoglou. Panathinaikos defender Andre Pinto got injured in the game and eill miss the forthcoming Athens derby with AEK and the Europa league cliash with Lazio in Rome.

Also on Monday, Super League struggler Panthrakikos parted ways with coach Savvas Pantelidis, with Pavlos Dermitzakis being the favorite to take over.
