Volleyball heartbreak

Greece was forced to an early exit from the World Volleyball Championship in Japan after losing 3-2 to Cuba yesterday for its fourth defeat in as many games. This was the best performance by Costas Haritonidis’s men so far in the tournament, with the Greeks winning the second and fourth sets of the game with the same score (25-20). Cuba outplayed Greece in the first and third sets (25-19 and 25-22) and was more effective in the tiebreaker (15-12). Today Greece is meeting Australia for its last group game before returning home.
