Treat of a show for basketball fans in Iraklio
Basketball fans enjoyed a memorable All-Star weekend in Iraklio, Crete, which produced plenty of excitement and a rewarding spectacle for everyone. In the showpiece event yesterday, the Greek All-Stars thrashed the Rest of the World All-Stars 147-114, led by Olympiakos’s Sofoklis Schortsanitis, who registered no fewer than 42 points, including three out of five three-pointers. On Saturday, the Under-20 All-Stars beat the Under-22 All-Stars 91-89. Lance Harris of Kolossos Rhodes won the slam-dunk competition, while Panathinaikos’s Drew Nicholas topped the three-point contest at the newly built sports hall at Nea Alikarnassos.
