Hospitals prepare for two-day strike
Services at public hospitals are expected to be disrupted on November 26 and 27 after the union representing Greek state hospital workers, known by its acronym POEDIN, decided Tuesday on a two-day strike to protest working conditions and cutbacks.
In a statement, POEDIN referred to “the demolition of hospitals due to underfunding and understaffing.”
It also complained about the cleaning companies employed by the hospitals, accusing them of offering “undeclared, cheap, uninsured labor” and referring to “medieval working conditions.”
