Body discovered at Thessaloniki University
Police in Thessaloniki were on Thursday seeking the identity of a person whose body was discovered by a cleaning crew at the northern port city’s university.
The body was found in the Polytechnic School of Aristotle University in the morning, the ANA-MPA news agency reported, adding that police have ruled out foul play.
Local media in Thessaloniki are reporting that the body is that of a young woman who possibly died of a drug overdose.
Universities around the country have been lamenting shortages in security due to budget cuts in recent years that have resulted in many campuses being overrun by criminal elements.
Thessaloniki’s Aristotle University is one of many that have lodged repeated complaints with the Education and Citizens’ Protection ministries.
