Cruise industry disembarks in Athens for two days

A series of business meetings is under way in Athens between Greek cruise sector officials and foreign operators such as Royal Caribbean, MSC Cruises and Carnival Corporation, in the context of the Posidonia Sea Tourism Forum.

The two-day event starts on Tuesday at the Athens Concert Hall with the participation of almost the entire tourism industry of the Eastern Mediterranean, including companies from Italy and Turkey.

Data from Piraeus Port Authority concerning home-porting activity in the year to end-April are encouraging, with a rise in passenger numbers to 35,000 from 27,000 last year.
