Tenders launched for four marinas

The Tourism Development Ministry has proclaimed four tenders for the leasing of marinas at Mytilene on Lesvos, Mallia on Crete, the city of Zakynthos, and Argostoli on Cephalonia. The marinas will be leased for 40 years. Bidders for the Mytilene marina will have to include a five-year business plan for the completion, development and operation of the tourist port and the exploitation of its comparative advantages. Bidders for the other three marinas must submit 10-year plans. All offers should be submitted to the Ministerial Committee for Tourist Ports that will evaluate them. The one-off payment for Mytilene is set at 2 million euros and the annual lease will be adjusted yearly. The deadline for the bids is August 20 and each bidder’s letter of guarantee must amount to 300,000 euros. The payment for Argostoli is 1 million euros, with the deadline set for August 27, while for Zakynthos and Mallia the payments are 500,000 euros each. Their deadlines are August 29 and September 3 respectively. Estimates put the number of mooring places in the Mytilene marina at 200, while Mallia will have 300, Zakynthos 150 and Argostoli 190.
