Need for Euro education
An electronic device outside the Bank of Greece in central Athens advises Greeks (and all other citizens of members of the Economic and Monetary Union) that the countdown to the adoption of the euro, ‘Our Money,’ into circulation has begun. Yesterday, 75 days before the euro enters our lives, the central bank organized a ‘Euro Information Conference.’ Among the speakers was European Central Bank president Wim Duisenberg. But he denied that the economy was entering a recession.
