Multi-car pile-up causes peak-hour traffic chaos in Athens

An accident involving seven cars caused peak hour traffic chaos on one of Athens’ busiest motorways on Friday morning.

The major collision occurred about 8 a.m. on the southbound lanes of Kifissos Avenue near Agii Anargyri, when the vehicles collided, for a yet unknown reason, while moving on the central lane.

As a result of the crash, two lanes were forced to close for about half n hour, causing traffic to bank up.

An ambulance and police arrived at the scene but there were no immediate reports of injuries.
