Residents told to stay indoors as fire breaks out in Aspropyrgos

Residents around a burning waste management facility in Aspropyrgos, near Athens, have been told by the authorities to stay indoors and close the windows on Wednesday as the area has been shrouded by dense smoke.

According to a statement by the Hellenic Fire Service, there are 13 vehicles and 30 firefighters operating on scene.
