Actor acquitted of rape, found guilty of two attempts

The court announced its verdict in the trial of well-known actor Petros Filippidis on Wednesday. Specifically, he was found unanimously innocent on the charge of serial rape but was found unanimously guilty of two charges of attempted rape.
The verdict reached by the Mixed Jury Court is in line with the prosecutor’s recommendation.
The trial will continue with an examination of whether the court will recognize any defences.
