Eva Kaili’s return to the European Parliament
Greek MEP Eva Kaili returned to the seats of the European Parliament for the first time after the Qatargate scandal on Wednesday, to attend the speech of the exiled Sviatlana Tsikhanouskaya.
Kaili’s request to participate in the European Parliament in Strasbourg was transferred to the Belgian authorities by her advocate, Michalis Dimitrakopoulos, and was accepted last June.
Kaili was arrested on December 9, 2022, over her involvement in the Qatargate scandal. On May 14, she was released from prison with an electronic monitoring bracelet and returned to her home in Brussels.
The Qatargate trial date remains unknown.
