Three arrests in drug trafficking investigation at Piraeus container terminal

Police in Athens have dismantled what they believe to be drug trafficking ring that imported large quantities of cocaine from South America to Piraeus.

Three Greek women were arrested and 60 kilograms of cocaine were seized as part of a month-long operation.

Kathimerini understands that the arrested woman are privately employed refrigeration operators. They were tasked with removing drug packages that were hidden in the refrigeration systems of shipping containers.

As part of their investigation, police installed monitoring systems at Piraeus container terminal.
