Storms forecast over weekend

Civil Protection authorities are on heightened alert in response to forecasts of severe weather on Saturday as the high temperatures give way to rain and storms.
“Tomorrow [Thursday] at 1 p.m., the National Meteorological Service [EMY] will issue an emergency notice of worsening weather,” said Minister of Civil Protection and Climate Crisis Vassilis Kikilias.
“The situation is alarming. In Western Greece there will be heavy showers and storms. As time passes, the system will move further east and affect Attica as well. We will have a line of storms,” said meteorologist Yiannis Kallianos in comments to Mega TV.
