Athens municipal worker’s bribe trial put off for ninth time

The City of Athens complained on Tuesday that the trial of a municipal employee caught accepting a bribe has been postponed for the ninth time in two years.

The municipality said the unnamed public servant first went on trial on July 22, 2011.

The latest postponement came on June 28, when the presiding judge said he was not able to attend court.

The City of Athens said the employee was caught red-handed accepting money.

It did not give further details.
