Australia issues travel warning for Greece
The Australian Department for Foreign Affairs on Friday issued its third travel directive in one week warning nationals traveling to Greece to ?avoid all protests and demonstrations as they may turn violent.? The warning comes in the wake of violent protests on Wednesday at central Syntagma Square against Parliament passing a raft of controversial austerity measures. The travel directive also cautions Australians traveling to Greece to be wary of pickpockets and purse snatchers, and to avoid the Athenian neighborhoods of Exarchia and Omonia.
