Seamen to meet to decide on action

Sea travelers may be in for a good deal of woe as the Seamen?s Union (PNO) will be meeting on Thursday to decide on its stance toward government plans to decrease their social security and pension benefits.

According to reports on Monday, PNO has said that depending on the outcome of its subsequent meeting with Alternate Merchant Marine Minister Haris Paboukis, it does not rule out the possibility of calling for strike action in late July, which will effectively bring Greek ports to a standstill.
